How is NameDibs different from Registrars and Hosting providers?
NameDibs operates a marketplace where customers can claim rare and premium domain names via a subscription. Once you’ve claimed a domain name, we’ll help you get it set-up whether that means launching a website using the easy-to-use tools provided by NameDibs and its partners or connecting the domain to an existing site. NameDibs does not charge extra for use of its website development tools or for the hosting when these services are utilized.
What should I do with my domain after I subscribe?

Use it!   You can create a one-page website and publish it using your newly subscribed domain name. This is INCLUDED in your subscription and does not require any technical skills or experience! With NameDibs, you’ll have access to our internal, easy-to-use, templated sites (coming soon!) as well as over 100 currently offered via a NameDibs partner (at no cost to you!)

If you already have an existing website or simply want to forward visitors to or a social media profile page, we’ll help you connect your subscribed domain to it.

Most importantly, don’t forget about using your domain for email!  We feel that using your subscribed domain name as your email address, e.g., John@JohnSmith.com, conveys a much more professional image than what is seen when using a free email solution, such as a gmail address like johnsmith553781@gmail.com. The best part? You CAN still use gmail as your email platform, but with your custom email address instead! 

Do I need to have technical skills?

No, no technical skills are required.  Getting your website set-up is easy.  If you do help, we’re here for you via phone, email, and even Zoom. We pride ourselves on customer service and are happy to help!

Do I own the domain name after I claim it?

No, the current registrant will continue to be the owner of the domain name.  Claiming a domain name via NameDibs is more like a rental or lease with one important caveat, you receive the first right of refusal should the domain name ever be put up for sale by its owner.
